DQS CFS now Member of the Sedex Associate Auditor Group
The AAG Group consists of selected auditing companies and NGOs involved in ethical trade auditing. By joining the AAG Group, DQS aims to contribute to the development of Sedex and its SMETA auditing protocol and to improve labor conditions in global supply chains.
Sedex is a not for profit global membership organization and offers the largest collaborative platform for sharing ethical supply chain data. Since the launch in 2004, over 38,000 organizations from around the world have made Sedex their platform of choice to show their respect to ethical and socially sustainable production and trading principles.
With qualified ethical auditors all over the globe, the DQS Group offers Sedex SMETA audits wherever you need them.
Your listing on the SEDEX database shows the world that you respect the principles of ethically and socially sustainable production. The Supplier Ethical Data Exchange Database is a worldwide platform for the exchange of information on ethically sustainable production in the supply chain. The SEDEX-Database enables its members to manage their suppliers and reduce their risks by exchanging information on ethical performance. This way improvements regarding ethically sustainable business practices are made throughout the production chain.
Companies which pass a SEDEX-Audit according to the SMETA-Guidelines and share this information in the SEDEX-Database can prove to their customers that they respect the principles of ethically and socially sustainable production. Customers, on the other hand, can effectively manage their suppliers according to these principles, thus reducing their risk.
What is SMETA?
SMETA is an audit format that describes good practice in ethical auditing. As one of the most commonly used ethical audit methodologies in the world, SMETA plays an important role in the effort to ensure responsible sourcing and transparency in supply chains. SMETA audits focus on labour standards, health & safety in the workplace, and optionally also on environmental aspects and ethical business practices. Because the SMETA methodology is recognized by an ever increasing number of companies and the audit results can be shared in the Sedex Database, the unified methodology reduces audit duplication and lightens the burden for suppliers.
